Rules

There are a few ground rules to contributing to Wiki Frakr, they are as follows.

1. Treat everyone with civility, humility, and respect. This means no harassment, personal attacks, or other childish garbage.
2. Do not riff the actor. These are real people, therefore a form of slander, and just bad taste. Stick to blazing the characters, not the actors.
3. Criticize things respectfully. Basically, criticize the work, not the person who did the work! And if you need to point out someone's flaws, do so in a way that'll help them: being an ass or dick about it isn't the best way to teach or correct someone when they do something that could be done better!
4. Whenever in doubt about what is and isn't appropriate, ask! If you don't know about something, simply ask your fellow Wikifrakers!
5. If someone respectable (or an administrator or bureaucrat) asks that you stop doing something, you probably want to heed that advice! They may know what they're talking about, particularly if enough people say it! ;-)
6. Use common sense. Well, 'nuff said.
7. Don't try hard to be funny! There are several types of humor. Some of the best humor is natural, even the best stuff requires that you use your mind! If something is naturally funny, you probably don't want to frak with it. Ta da!
8. Jokes about sex or bodily functions are overrated. Yeah, the "toilet humor" can be funny, but more often than not it simply isn't funny. Most of it is old and trite. Try something new, better even!

Permitted content

We permit mocking of, and the creation of funny material relating to, Battlestar Galactica. Pretty much everything is fair game... with the exception of real life people, places, or events!

We're here to have fun, not to cause hardship on real people! (Thus the policy on harassment.)

Punishment

Basically, we have an easy banning policy.

Depending on the severity or number of the infractions, we may choose to ban you outright. Below is a general list of things that will get you banned from contributing. (Note, should you still want to visit us, you can... you just won't be able to contribute.)

3 strikes and your out

These are things that usually work on a "3 strike" system:

• Edit wars.
• Blatantly ignoring an administrator or sysop's warnings for most minor, lesser offensive things.
• Vandalism.

• Continued harassment.
• Stalking people online via our website.
• Adding racist content or slurs.
• Adding links or content of an illegal nature: illegal downloads, child porn, death threats, etc.
  • Do note: Not only will performing this frakery get your ass banned, but we'll also contact the FBI and Interpol. That kind of content we don't need! (Got it? We sure hope so!)
• Blatant spamming.
• Anything that can cause legal trouble for the wiki is worthy of the "Insta-ban!" as well.
