Resurrection - It's not just for Jesus anymore!
So the Humano-Cylons[1] can download themselves into new bodies when they die. What a bunch of lucky bastards. The rest of us are worm food.
It's apparently a sometimes painful and sticky process that results in a new body[2].
The Cylon's deep-frozen spare body goes through a "warm liquid goo phase", during which the Cylon's thoughts, memories, etc. are reimplanted in the brain, a process Cavil described as feeling like a "white hot poker through the skull". Or something like that. Personally I think he should quit crying and enjoy his multiple lives.
Conditions only apply if the Cylon is in the continental United States, Puerto Rico, or within spitting distance of one of their Resurrection ships. Terms may not apply in certain areas. Please check with your local service provider.
Trouble with resurrection can also arise from traffic jams. Pretty boy Anders blew up a lovely Cylon Cafe on Old Cylon Occupied Craprica which resulted in a jamming of the goo baths. How long probably depends on how many rubberneckers there are in traffic and if it is icy out.
