Overview
Somewhere a Raptor is lost, and Pegasus goes to examine the situation (we've seen something like this before, haven't ve?). The new XO has a more insane plan, than Starbuck had, and they beat badly a lot of old chrome jobs, who escaped from being thrown to the garbage. In the end, some shit blows up.
Summary
Man, watch this movie, a lotta things happens here, the story is overcomplicated a bit. More timelines, we see Cain, the admiral as a young frak, and a suicide girl. And of course, a lotta shit blows up, very awesome special effects included.
Notes
General
- The episode was nominated for a Hugo and a Saturn award. We still don't know, why.
- This episode contains the very famous and copyright-protected slogan of the old series, "By your command". My sister, who doesn't even know, that an original series ever existed, loughed a lot on that scene.
- In the begining of the episode, when the Guardian raider appears (a type of raider, witch Colonials supposed to had fought during the first cylon war), DRADIS can't identify them... I think someone didn't think about it. Viewers only saw the cool new raiders, they won't care about something like that... But we do!
Production
- The special effects shots were done in house without using a third-party source: over 184 shots were done, 120 of them being full CGI. Many new ships had to be developed specifically for "Razor", in addition to the Original Series-inspired Centurions. Maybe using the old costumes would look pretty gay in 2008.
Story
- When Pegasus jumps away from the Scorpion Fleet Yards, the vacuum created from the jump appears to suck in the surrounding flames and smoke of battle. This effect has been seen before in "Exodus, Part II" following Galactica's intra-atmosphere jump. It's the most amazing CGI effect in the whole show, I bet.
Unrated DVD
- More blood can be seen :)
- No more boobs can be seen :(
