Battlestar Ponderosa is a combined re-imagining of Bonanza and Star Wars starring Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict.

Premise

The show chronicled the weekly adventures of Adama, an amalgam of Ben Cartwright/Ben Kenobi, and his family of well-dressed chaps and women. Instead of having solely sons, he had two sons (Apollo and Zac) and a hawt daughter, Athena. A rogue character, named Starbuck, is also considered a son of Adama, despite having a mischievous twit called Chameleon claim to be his long lost father. (Awww.)

  • Harlan Ellison is famous for coining the phrase "Battlestar Ponderosa" in his reviews of the series for the magazine Starlog.
