An Airlock is what Laura Roslin constantly threatens to throw Cylons and Cylon half-breeds out of.
In a pinch, a launch tube will work just as well.
Airlocks do important business in the series, one of them needed a repair, and after all, almost took an episode long to solve the problem. How ironic, that Cally and the Chief almost accidentally get the Jammer Treatment, later the woman dies in a launch tube, and the man turns out to be one of them who used to get the treatment in the good old days.
